On the bank of river Kathajodi ( a branch river of Mahanadi) there exists an old Shiba temple in the village Paramahansa. It was built around 1200 AD and is one of the biggest Shiba temple near Cuttack. The Paramahansanath temple is only 10 kilometers from bus stand of Cuttack and can be easily reached by auto rickshaw or taxi. The place is calm and quiet, and can awaken spiritual feeling due to its environment.

The prasad ( Khechidi and Dalama, very tasty healthy balanced food) is available during daytime and can be obtained in bulk by advance order. A pond houses a number of turtles and ducks. The best time to visit the place is around winter and spring.

The temple attracts a large number of devotees during festivals like Shibaratri, etc. The premise is not neat and clean due to lack of proper maintenance. The poor collection of internal revenue also hinders proper payments to various service providers.

Near to Parahamansa village, there exists another beautiful temple named after Ma Tarini at Biribati. This private initiative has culminated in a number of temples at the bank of famous Taladanda canal. This is situated adjacent to national highway connecting Cuttack with Paradip. Many devotees visit the temples for worship and spend sometime admiring the peace and tranquility of environment.

The walls of main temple have been decorated with various mythological characters from Hindu philosophy and are really worthwhile to watch and ponder about their subtle meanings. A Shiba temple is also there which houses a big Nandi sculptor.

The temple offers prasad to devotees on everyday. One can book bulk order of prasad in advance for various religious ceremony inside the premise. It has well maintained kitchen for this purpose. All facilities are maintained properly.There exists one big ant hill which is also worshiped by many. The ant hill is not static. It is growing day by day and the devotees have taken notice of that. The result is blind worshiping of a natural phenomenon. The premise also has a number of ducks roaming here and there and breaking the silence of surrounding through their quacks.

There is also a school operating inside the premise and the temple trust is well funded to manage the entire activities. In any weekend above two locations can be easily visited with families and from busy city life some quality time can be extracted for spiritual awakening.
